Personal Statement

Life presents all of us with challenging transitions and stresses. You may be experiencing "normal" life stress such as finishing college, deciding to live together or get married, making a career change, having a child, or deciding whether to stay in a relationship or trying to have a relationship! You may be having unexpected stress such as losing a job, deciding to break up, losing a loved one, or being in chronic conflict with yourself or another. It is normal to be feeling anxious, frustrated, sad or overwhelmed at these times. It's also healthy to want to connect with a therapist to gain support and perspective. I collaborate with individuals and couples to generate practical solutions, deepen self awareness and strengthen connections.

My particular interests: intimacy in relationships with self and others, anxiety and what's underneath it, the emotional power of past experience, self-defeating patterns and chronic pain.

Recent findings in neuroscience show that the body and mind are inseparable. What affects one affects the other. I incorporate body-mind techniques and mindfulness practice. We can use a multi-level approach mental, emotional and physical...adding a deeper dimension to your therapy. I work closely with you to help you learn about yourself from the inside out...because people who truly trust themselves make healthier choices in all areas of life. I welcome any inquiry: even one session can help. I will work with you to make therapy affordable.
