PTCNY is pleased to announce the expansion of our training program.
This is an important milestone for PTCNY. Since its formation, the PTCNY has included training as part of its mission. This has included workshop seminars on a wide variety of topics, onsite training and coaching, and other speaking engagements at places of employment.
We are extremely pleased to have been accepted by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYSOASAS) as a Certified Training Provider.
We are now able to develop and present specialized courses that will be accredited by NYSOASAS. The credits earned by NYSOASAS will be under the umbrella of CASAC credit (certified addictions and alcohol counselor) or CPS credit (certified prevention specialist).
Any counseling professional or trainee, no matter the discipline, is eligible to obtain these credits. One does not have to be officially enrolled in an NYSOASAS training program to obtain the credit.
What is additionally exciting about our program is that we are able to develop a wide variety of courses that are eligible for this credit, both directly related to addiction, but also encompassing a wide variety of other life issues such as mental health, trauma, family life, relationships, work stress, aging, etc.
Our PTCNY members have expertise in a vast array of clinical areas. And in some instances, courses will be eligible for more than NYSOASAS credit. All of the courses will afford a rich learning experience and will expand the ability of our participants to add to their skills as counseling professionals.
The courses are going to be presented in various venues in New York City, and in some instances, in other areas of New York State, such as Westchester or Rockland Counties.
Smaller classes will be held in our members' offices and will afford participants a more intimate experience.
Larger classes will be held in larger meeting rooms.
Please check back frequently to our new training section of the website as we will be adding new courses amd scheduling new classes.
