Personal Statement:

I have been helping people in my role as psychotherapist for more than thirty years. It has been both a gratifying and challenging experience. While we all share the same milestones in our personal growth and social development, our ability to address these issues is highly individualized. For the lucky few, it can be relatively smooth sailing. But for most of us, we can get stuck somewhere along the way.

How can we resolve these difficulties and free ourselves to feel happier, lighter, less conflicted, and more assured in our human journey? In some cases we may need to turn back the clock in the therapeutic process in order to re-examine past experiences, which may well include trauma. At other times, focusing on our attitudes and behavior related to current situations can offer the path forward. Sometimes, people just need to share their story and be heard without judgement. Frequently, issues surrounding the ability to connect to others, to love and to be loved, can be a central focus.

In the partnership between therapist and patient, the goal is to identify behavioral patterns and attitudes that need to be addressed in order to help them move along, unencumbered, so that they can lead fuller and more satisfying lives. As a psychotherapist working on Manhattanís Upper West Side, I work primarily with individuals, couples, and children. Together, in a shared space of empathy and trust, patients learn to acquire the tools needed to achieve self-acceptance and balance, with less energy being directed towards conflict and anxiety.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
