Psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery and growth. Each person has his or her unique history and life situation. Together, we will look at you in your life in order to figure out what keeps you from fulfillment.
Our upbringing, environment and biology shape how we experience the world. The way our parents and caretakers cared for us sets the patterns for how we relate to others throughout our lives. We react to traumatic events by enclosing ourselves in a self-protective wall. Rather than protect us, that wall often ends up isolating us from ourselves and others!
My office is a safe, confidential space. As your therapist, I use myself to listen, observe and feel your experience in order to help you “see” things in a new way. You don’t have to stay stuck in the same unsatisfying patterns. There are more possibilities! Self-examination often requires a lot of courage. It can be painful but it can also be fascinating and exciting. Taking the journey to truly understanding our own experiences, feelings and desires is so worthwhile! After all, we spend our entire life with ourselves.
