DON'T CARRY THE LOAD ALONE!
I provide support, empathy and understanding in an atmosphere of safety and acceptance of your unique story. Each of our stories are both universal and unique as we deal with the struggles of the human condition that we all share. Through the therapeutic relationship and process that we will develop together, we begin your journey of self discovery -- an
adventure that can lead to believing in your self-worth, to feeling more empowered to take charge or your choices, to trusting yourself to risk change, to developing and deepening
relationships and to reducing and healing the pain and sadness that are part of life's journey.
In addition to practicing individual psychotherapy and couples counseling for 35 years, I am trained and certified - and have
over 20 years of experience in - 2 specific modalities that are very effective with Trauma and with Relationship Issues respectively.
One is EMDR which is a process that can address both MAJOR TRAUMA, referred to as the 'big T" traumas as well as life's
reoccurring painful experiences referred to as the "little t" traumas.
The process of EMDR can result in significantly reducing the level of disturbance one has been experiencing and in reducing the degree to which it has interfered with ones functioning. This process can lead to igniting ones potential as well as to reprocessing the original effect of the trauma.
The other modality is IMAGO RELATIONSHIP THERAPY which is especially effective in couples counseling to help partners move
from conflict to connection. It is a very dynamic process that engages couples in deepening their relationship by their
experiencing and developing more mutual understanding, respect and empathy.
I work very relationally, partnering with each person and/or couple providing support and exploration to attain growth and greater satisfaction in the life you want for yourself.
